Who we are
Walter supplies, manages and recovers IT equipment for businesses. This Privacy Policy explains how Walter ("Walter", "we", "us" or "our") collects and uses personal data as a controller when you visit wearewalter.com, contact us, or use the Walter platform on behalf of a business (together, the "Services").
The controller of your personal data is the Walter company you deal with:
- BONATECH PARTNERS SL (tax ID B26589119), Paseo Bonanova 22, Esc. C, 5-1, 08022 Barcelona, Spain, for customers, prospects and visitors in Europe and the rest of the world; or

1. Our role: controller or processor
We are a controller for the personal data this policy describes: data about you as a website visitor, a prospect, a customer's contact or a user of the Walter platform.
We are a processor for the personal data a customer gives us so that we can deliver its equipment and services — for example, the names and delivery addresses of its employees. That processing is governed by our Customer Terms and Conditions and Data Processing Addendum, published at wearewalter.com/legal, and the customer is the controller. If you work for a Walter customer and have a question about that data, please contact your employer. If you contact us instead, we will pass your request on to them.
2. Personal data we collect
Data you give us
- Contact and account details: name, work email address, phone number, company, job title, and your role in a Walter account.
- Billing details: your company's billing details and billing contacts. Card and bank details are collected and held by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: messages you send us by form, email or chat, support requests, and notes of calls and demos.
Data collected automatically
- Sign-in data: how you sign in (for example with Google, Microsoft, an email address or a passkey), when you last signed in, and the IP address and device you signed in from, which we use to keep accounts secure. We never see the password for a Google or Microsoft account.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and how you use the Walter platform.
- Cookie data: see our Cookie Policy.
Data from others
- Business contact details from partners, resellers and public professional sources, where the law allows.
- For orders on lease, the outcome of the financing partner's credit check on your company.
3. How we use it
- To provide the Services: running your account, taking and delivering orders, managing devices, and support.
- To bill and collect payment.
- To keep the Services and your account secure and to prevent fraud.
- To send you service messages, and marketing where the law allows and your preferences permit.
- To understand how the Services are used and improve them, including by producing aggregated statistics that do not identify you.
- To comply with the law and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Automated processing. We use automated tools, including AI, to read documents such as quotes, invoices and delivery notes, and to answer questions in the Walter platform. They assist our staff and our users; they do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. We do not use personal data to train AI models.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of these legal bases:
- Contract: to perform a contract with you or your company, or to take steps you ask for before entering into one.
- Legitimate interests: to run, improve and secure our business and the Services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent: where the law requires it, for example for non-essential cookies and some marketing. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: to comply with the law, for example tax and accounting rules.
7. International transfers
The Walter platform is hosted in the European Union. Some of our service providers process personal data elsewhere; where the data leaves the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on an adequacy decision, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. How long we keep it
We keep account data for as long as your company's account is active, and afterwards only for as long as we need it to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We keep marketing contact details until you opt out or they are no longer relevant.
9. Security
We protect personal data with technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk. No system is completely secure; if you think your account has been compromised, please tell us straight away at hello@wearewalter.com. If a breach is likely to put your rights at high risk, we will tell you without undue delay.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you are, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Have your data deleted.
- Restrict or object to our processing, including for direct marketing.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent, where we rely on it.
If you live in a US state with a privacy law, such as California, you may also have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, to correct and delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing — which we do not do. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
Many account details can be changed in the Walter platform's settings. For anything else, contact us at hello@wearewalter.com; we may ask you to verify your identity. If you are in the European Economic Area you may also complain to your data protection authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).
11. Marketing
Where the law allows, we may send you marketing emails. You can opt out at any time with the unsubscribe link in any of them, or by writing to hello@wearewalter.com. Service messages about your account and orders are not marketing and are not affected.
12. Children
The Services are for businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always at wearewalter.com/legal/privacy, with the date it came into force, and we will tell users of the Walter platform about material changes by email or in the platform.
14. Contact
For any question about this policy or your personal data, write to hello@wearewalter.com.
