Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage, that Walter uses on wearewalter.com and in the Walter platform, including its sign-in and payment pages. Read it together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. First-party cookies are set by Walter; third-party cookies are set by another company whose service a page uses.

Strictly necessary. These make the Services work and cannot be switched off:

• Sign-in: keeping you signed in, completing a sign-in you started, and remembering which sign-in method you used last.
• Security: protecting your account and our pages against misuse, such as forged requests and automated traffic.
• Payments: our payment provider, Stripe, sets its own cookies on payment pages to process payments and prevent fraud.
• Your cookie choice: remembering whether you allowed analytics on our website, so we do not ask on every page. It is kept for six months.

Preferences. These remember choices you make, such as your language or the country you are shopping in. They are set only when you make the choice, and the language cookie is kept for 400 days. Our website also keeps, in your browser's local storage, the date you last sent us a demo request or a message, so the form shows a confirmation when you come back rather than asking again. It stores only the date, never what you wrote.

Analytics. Our analytics software, Google Analytics, provided by Google Ireland Limited, helps us understand how visitors use wearewalter.com: which pages are visited and how people find the site. Its cookies are kept for up to 13 months. It is loaded, and sets its cookies, only if you allow analytics, and only on our website: we do not use analytics cookies inside the Walter platform. We do not use marketing or advertising cookies.

You can give, change or withdraw consent to analytics cookies at any time from the cookie settings on our website: the "Cookie settings" link at the foot of every page, or the button at the top of this policy. If you withdraw consent, Google Analytics stops and its cookies are deleted from your browser. We ask again six months after you last chose.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings, but without the strictly necessary ones you will not be able to sign in to the Walter platform.

We update this policy when the cookies we use change. The current version is always at wearewalter.com/legal/cookies, with the date it came into force.
